Revved Up, Pumped Up, Juiced Up Morning

Image
This morning I was all fired up and ready to make some super charged juice for the family. I juiced up: 2 lbs of organic carrots 1 organic red apple 2 clementines 1 large Meyer lemon, skin on! large handful of parsley, with stems We all just guzzled it down so quickly and it was amazing. Still being fired up for some greens and fruits, I decided to make a green smoothie. I wanted to incorporate some of the Chia Goodenss that I posted about the other day.  I know people add chia to their smoothies but I thought it would be great to also have the buckwheat and hemp that is in this particular Chia Goodness mix. This smoothie was so creamy and delicious it tasted like a raspberry milkshake. Here is my recipe for our   Revved Up Saturday Morning Green Smoothie : 4 large collard leaves, remove stems 3 C water 4 pitted Medjool dates 4 bananas 1 T vanilla extract 2 hands full of organic raspberries 1/2 scoop of Vega (plain) 2 T Chia Goodness 1 C ice...

Green Start Your Morning

Image
I like to jump start my morning with GREENS. I made a wonderful energizing green juice today that gave me the start I needed. This juice is very green, no fruit. I wouldn't try it as a beginner juicer but veteran juicers will love it. The undertone of mint was wonderful and it really blended beautifully with the dandelion and parsley. I love the color, again a smile came to my face. :) Green Start Your Morning Juice 1 large organic cucumber, skin on! 6 large dandelion greens Small bunch of parsley, stems included 6-8 small mint leaves Handful of sunflower sprouts (optional) +Run all of your greens through the juicer. Enjoy the raw energy and healing nutrients you are fueling your body with. The dandelion greens give me a sort of natural high. I feel really energized after juicing them or even when I drink them in a green smoothie. I put dandelion greens in the children's green smoothies and they don't detect a thing. I suppose they are so use to greens now, but ...

I still have some December posts that I don't want to neglect, but as it happens time flies by and here we are in the New Year; Happy New Year! We have already planned and gone on some spectacular field trips with our home school group and I wanted to post about our Hydroponic and Heirloom Garden trip we went on the first week in December to Rabbit Run Farm . We had a great time learning about this wonderful farming technique and of course I just had to buy some food!! Here are some pics of her amazing produce. Vegetables and Fruits as Far as the Eye Can See The Best Strawberry Any of Us Has Had These are the strawberies Norman Love uses in his chocolates!! Happy RAW Mommy

Image
What could make a raw mommy so happy?? My three youngest boys drinking green lemonade with me on Sunday morning!! The older two would have been drinking it with us but they were sleeping in. :) And the fact that Eric Jr, our 4 year old had a huge bowl of raw kale for breakfast, made me even more happy!!! These kids are getting serious about the raw foods. I couldn't be happier. We have some health issues in the family and there is nothing more important than a raw diet for healing. As much raw as I can get into the rest of the family the happier I become. The green lemonade we made was absolutely wonderful! I ran out and the kids wanted more. Next time I'll double the batch.
