Diced Pears and Sauce

Image
Prior to my evening meal, which is usually greens and sprouts, I will have a fruit dish of some sort. I do this to make sure I get enough calories and healthy carbs, since a dinner of just greens and sprouts doesn't add up much in the calorie department. This week I purchased two bags of organic pears from Trader Joe's and 2 cartons of organic strawberries. The combo of the two sounded really good tonight. Here is the super simple sauce I made to drizzle over top of three organic pears. It is simply amazing! The first bite said, "Strawberry shortcake!!" The dates sweetened it up so nicely it tasted just like the sweet sauce my grandmother use to make for her shortcake. Hers of course was sweetened with white sugar--big no no. Now we know better and sweeten things with delicious dates. Strawberry Date Sauce 8 organic strawberries, with green tops 2 dates, soaked (keep soak water) In a personal sized blender, blend the strawberries, dates and some of the soak...

Strawberry Banana Maca Pudding

Yes another berry recipe, what can I say I have been indulging in the organic berries lately. I also have been hooked on my chia and was looking for another way to make a yummy pudding. I love the rich taste of Raw Maca and try to find different ways to use it in my raw recipes so the other day I decided to combine it with the fresh organic strawberries and bananas that I just bought at the market. I mixed the Maca with the chia and then topped it with some pureed strawberries and banana. The end result was delicious. Allow to gel for 20 minutes. Stir well and add more water if needed to get pud...

Take a look at this strawberry! Unfortunately it is NOT one of mine. My strawberry plants were producing very small fruit; I am grateful yes, but I just had to buy the box of berries I found with this mammoth one peeking out at me at the store. Needless to say it was an organic strawberry and from what we could tell, it was 3 that had fused together!!! So what does one do with a carton of delectable organic strawberries and a batch of freshly made almond mylk? How about blending up some yummy Strawberry Banana Almond Mylk. Strawberry Banana Mylk by Elizabeth @ rawlivingandlearning.blogspot.com 6 oz fresh organic strawberries, keep green tops on 1 1/2 organic bananas 1 T chia seeds 1 T hemp seeds 1 1/2 C fresh raw almond mylk Blend all of the ingredients until creamy smooth. Aspiring Raw Chefs

Our Three Youngest The other day I was preparing some of my food and noticed our three youngest imitating me. We have a play wooden kitchen in the family room fully stocked with pots, pans, plastic food and dishes. My kids get so much use out of this set. They always pull out their stuff whenever I am in the kitchen preparing something. Well today they even donned their toques. We got these toques at Roy's Restaurant on Mother's Day. We went to Mother's Day Brunch and they gave these to all of the children. My kids have so much fun with these it makes the ridiculous price of that brunch almost worth it. Tee, Hee , Hee . I was preparing a raw dish I'll call "Berry Good Bowl". It is so simple and sooo good. This would be a great dish to prepare while traveling this summer because the ingredients would be really easy to have at the hotel room and you do not need any fancy equipment to prepare it. I have traveled twice so far since I went raw ...
