Quick Raw Soup Recipe

Image
Well I am sharing yet another raw soup recipe. I have been on a soup kick I guess. But this recipe is really, really good and I hope you can give it a try. It only requires 4 main ingredients and comes together so quickly. I have added an optional ingredient if you need to get selenium into your diet--3 raw Brazil nuts. They lend a yummy creamy texture to the soup too! I garnished the soup with some fresh, home grown sunflower greens. If you have been reading over my blog you know that I LOVE my sprouts. I always have at least 3 varieties sprouting each day, sometimes more. If you need information on how to sprout and grow sunflower greens you can look at some of my previous posts. Here is a basic one on sprouting and growing. And here is a picture of the black sprouting trays I currently use. I purchased them at Ace but my father found some at Home Depot as well. Of course you can always order them on line if you prefer. When I first started out I just used a disposable H...

Two More 80/10/10 Salad Dressing Recipes

Massive salads are usually my dinner of choice and I have been enjoying them in many different ways. I was getting into a rut and really needed to start switching things up. I have been trying many different fruit and veggie combos as well as many new no fat/low fat dressings. I just take a look around the kitchen for inspiration and start putting things in my personal size blender and a new dressings are created, usually with 3 ingredients or less. This salad was a mixture of mixed greens, my home grown sunflower greens and the most yummy Amish tomatoes that I found downtown at the 100% organic market.  I had some dates soaking in the refrigerator and some juicy, organic plums on the counter top. The 80/10/10 dressing that I made was just those two fruits; three soaked Medjool dates and two organic plums. Perfection!   Plum Dressing by Elizabeth @ rawlivingandlearning.blogspot.com   2 ripe, organic plums 3 soaked, pitted, Medjool dates (keep so...

Sunny Tomato Salad

Image
I usually grow my sunflower greens in black sprouting trays like these, right in the house, but I tried growing them on the porch this time. My black trays are being used for growing wheat grass so until I order more I will be using some new pots on the porch for the sunflower greens. One of my favorite things to sprout are sunflower greens! I just love them. I use them in collard wraps, green smoothies, on top of salads and as a salad themselves--garnished with various herbs or vegetables/fruits. Today I made a simple sunflower green and "Santa Grape Tomato" salad. Sunny Tomato Salad 2 C sunflower greens 1 stalk organic celery, chopped 1 C "Santa Grape Tomatoes", sliced Himalayan salt to taste Fresh ground pepper to taste Drizzle of fresh lemon juice Enjoy! +JMJ+ Today I am grateful for my children.
