Fasting, Prayer, and Work DAY 5 (Final Day)

Image
My final day of fasting and I couldn't be happier with how well the five days have gone. I'm happy to report that I slept much better last night. Upon rising I had 12 ounces of plain purified water and roughly 30 minutes later I had 12 ounces of lime water.  Then the boys and I headed out to the church for 8:00 am Stations of The Cross immediately followed by The Divine Mercy Chaplet.  "On Good Friday, the entire Church fixes her gaze on the Cross at Calvary. Each member of the Church tries to understand at what cost Christ has won our redemption. In the solemn ceremonies of Good Friday, in the Adoration of the Cross, in the chanting of the 'Reproaches', in the reading of the Passion, and in receiving the pre-consecrated Host, we unite ourselves to our Savior, and we contemplate our own death to sin in the Death of our Lord." "The Church - stripped of its ornaments, the altar bare, and with the door of the empty tabernacle standing open - is as if in mour...

Fasting, Prayer, and Work DAY 4

Image
Day 4 and my fast is going very well. This morning I was having flavored waters and teas but late afternoon I decided to begin juicing and drinking my infused water. ( I was forgetting to drink my water!!!)  We also got our deep spring cleaning done! The boys helped me deep clean the entire house. We dusted and washed everything in sight. We organized, rearranged things, and even put aside donation items and some books to sell at our homeschool groups used book sale. I'm feeling very tired tonight but I sat down after the dinner cleanup and reflected on The Last Supper on this Holy Thursday, 2016.  Jesus spoke extremely powerful words when He proclaimed, “take and eat for this is my body.”  And, “take and drink for this is my blood.”  Then he commanded the disciples “do this in memory of me." It was at that moment that he gave us The Blessed Eucharist to be celebrated until the end of time.  When trying to explain the Eucharist to the Roman Emperor aro...

Fasting, Prayer, and Work Day 3

Image
Had a great Day 3!!!! I really needed to be mindful to get my juices in because I was focusing mainly on infused waters today and feeling kinda lazy too. Upon rising I had 12 ounces of purified water. After my morning prayers I made 16 ounces of warm water with 1/8 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp ginger powder, 1/4 tsp of ground papaya seeds, and the juice of 1 lemon.  The seeds from papaya fruit have anthelmintic and antiamoebic properties. This means they kill intestinal worms and other parasitic organisms in your digestive system. Consuming raw fruits and vegetables of course can be a source for parasites and an easy way for them to get into our digestive system. Dried and Ground Papaya Seeds Then I prepped a 50 ounce pitcher of cucumber, lemon, and basil infused water. I'll drink this tomorrow but today I added some of it to my green juice.  Feeling totally amazing on Day 3 of my juice/water fast! Today some amazing things began to happen in my body. I'm...

Fasting, Prayer, and Work Day 2

Image
Tuesday of Holy Week  Day 2 of my fast and I'm feeling fantastic!!! This morning upon rising I had 12 ounces of purified water and had my quiet  prayer time. After I made the children their breakfast we had our family prayer time together as we listened to the Daily Readings and the video reflection, before going to noon Mass.  Before church I had a 10 oz mug of lemon turmeric water. To it I added some black pepper to increase the absorption of the turmeric in my body.  To make this drink I warmed some water slightly and then stirred in the juice of 1 lemon, 1 teaspoon of turmeric, and less than 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper. Shortly after that it was time to crack open the coconut I found on last night's walk. It yielded 16 ounces of coconut water. I put the water in the fridge to chill while I did a coffee enema and dry skin brushing prior to my shower. I managed to hide away for awhile to have some time to myself. I'm reading and meditating on excerpts in the book,...
