Day 3 Raw Shred and The Feast of St. Nicholas

Yesterday our family celebrated the Feast of St. Nicholas, as we do every year on December 6th. Stockings were hung and we lit the Advent Wreath, prayed, displayed our collection of St. Nicholas dolls (that belonged to my mother-in-law) and of course watched the children as they pulled their gifts out from their stockings. Then we re-read the story/bio of St. Nicholas and focused on his giving and loving spirit. It is always a good day for all of us.

A PRAYER FOR CHILDREN
O God the Father of mankind, who hast given me these my children, and committed them to my charge to bring them up for Thee, and to prepare them for eternal life: help me with Thy heavenly grace, that I may be able to fulfill this most sacred duty and stewardship. Teach me both, what to give and what to withhold; when to reprove and when to forbear; make me to be gentle, yet firm; considerate and watchful; and deliver me equally from the weakness of indulgence, and the excess of severity; and grant that, both by word and by example, I may be careful to lead them in the ways of wisdom and true piety. Amen. Pour Thy grace into their hearts, and strengthen and multiply in them the gifts of Thy Holy Spirit, that they may daily grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; and so, faithfully serving Thee here, may come to rejoice in Thy presence hereafter. Amen.

ST. NICHOLAS PRAYER
St. Nicholas, patron of children, may this candy cane, shaped like your Bishop's staff, be a reminder of Advent joy. Help us prepare for the miracle of the coming of Jesus. Help us not to be blind to the gifts of getting ready. Help us be sincere in the greetings we send and receive, with love and prayer. Kind St. Nicholas, protect us from shoppers' fatigue, help us to be kind and generous of heart. Where ever candy canes are hung, may they bring the bright blessings of God. Let them be reminders of the joy of sharing and our call to be God's peaceful children as we wait for Jesus. St. Nicholas, pray for us! AMEN! (http://www.2heartsnetwork.org/Nicholas.htm)

We call upon Your mercy, O Lord. Through the intercession of St. Nicholas, keep us safe amid all dangers so that we may go forward without hindrance on the road of salvation. Amen. (http://www.2heartsnetwork.org/Nicholas.htm)

A Prayer for Children
God, Our Father, we pray that through Your intercession of St. Nicholas You will protect our children. Keep them safe from harm and help them grow and become worthy in Your sight. Give them strength to keep their Faith in You; and to keep alive their joy in Your creation. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen (http://www.2heartsnetwork.org/Nicholas.htm)

2 oz fresh wheatgrass juice
Mug of organic coffee with 1 tsp coconut sugar
Smoothie:
Frozen mango and raspberries, thawed. 5-6 ripe bananas, organic baby spinach, water to blend.

8 oz water
8 oz OJ
Lunch:
Large romaine salad topped with mushrooms, tomatoes, shredded carrots, cukes, red onion, peppers, and cauliflower. Drizzled with just red vinegar. (No photo, we were at a meeting)
1 quart of Evian water

Work outs for today:
I started with an easy warmup:
Next I did a standing abs routine:
Next up was an awesome HIIT routine to shred fat!!
16 oz water
Lastly I did Fitness Blenders 5 minute Booty Blaster Challenge:
Ok, during the Booty Challenge I was screaming and could only do 8 of the jump squats at the end of the routine!!!!!
After I rested a minute I was still all pumped up and did this routine also!! I am going to be one sore puppy tomorrow.

Dinner was a yummy carob pudding. I ended up adding more ingredients than what are in the photo so I'll list the recipe:

Carob Pudding
by Elizabeth @ rawlivingandlearning.blogspot.com
5 ripe bananas
5 pitted Medjool dates
3 T raw carob powder
1/2 of a Haas avocado
small piece of vanilla bean
2 C of organic herb mix
enough water to blend....add slowly!!
In a high speed blender or food processor, blend/process until thick and creamy. Eat right away or chill for a few hours. I ate mine room temp and it was amazing!!! Photo looks bad but trust me this is soooooo good. My children were begging me for it.

+JMJ+ Today was a crazy hectic schedule and I am grateful that after our obligations for the day were completed, I was able to do my workout routines.
